2012 WHOLE PLANET FOUNDATION CALENDARS

Whole Planet Foundation Calendar

Available for $3, the 2012 Whole Planet Foundation Calendar features inspiring entrepreneurs from around the globe and includes coupon savings from Whole Foods Market suppliers (U.S. over $20 and Canada over $16). They are being sold in Whole Foods Market U.S. and Canada stores and thanks to supplier sponsors, 100% of calendar proceeds are donated to Whole Planet Foundation. Calendar funds raised will empower entrepreneurs with a microcredit loan and the opportunity to create or expand a home-based business and liftthemselves and their families out of poverty.

Since 2006 the Whole Planet Foundation Calendar has raised $401,492 for microlending programs, empowering 3018 women by funding an average first loan of $133, and through that loan, supporting over 17,810 people to live a better life. Visit your local Whole Foods Market store to purchase yours today!

Beth is a Whole Foods Market Team Member with the Global Food Safety Team and she says, "I give to the Whole Planet Foundation because it's the right thing to do. As an employee of Whole Foods Market I've been presented with many opportunities to learn, grow, and expand my own skill set, thus creating a better life for myself and my family. What better way to show gratitude than to pay it forward to those who want to do the same but just need the opportunity, especially in an impoverished community where even a little bit goes a long way?"

Sharing the story of microcredit through Food

Because Whole Foods Market sources coffee through Allegro Coffee Company in Ethiopia, Whole Planet Foundation is funding microlending programs there to help alleviate poverty by providing access to microcredit loans through OCSSCO. Here is a recipe inspired by microcredit clients in Ethiopia.
